10 Facts You Didn’t Know About Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss became the first woman in WWE history to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles when she defeated Bayley at Payback.

That achievement is just the latest in Alexa’s amazing life, one that has featured everything from pro wrestling and bodybuilding to softball, cheerleading, and gymnastics.

Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, the future WWE starlet forged a bond with her parents that makes for a wonderful story. Coming through life-threatening illnesses and crippling self-doubt, the family told their story during a short WWE-produced documentary.

That film, along with the fact that Bliss herself is routinely an open book during interviews with the media, means she is one of the most fascinating females in the promotion’s history. Her tale is definitely one that’s more interesting when you scratch just beneath the surface, and here’s why…

10. Her Parents Struggled Through Her Early Years

Born on 9 August 1991, the future Alexa Bliss is simply Alexis Kaufman to her parents Bob and Angela. Doted upon by her mother and father, the current Raw Women’s Champion quickly became the apple of their collective eye, but it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows in the Kaufman household.

Angela was 18 and Bob only 17 when Bliss was born. As young parents just setting out on their journey through life, the couple admitted during a WWE-produced documentary about Alexa that they struggled initially to settle as a family.

Much of this was financial, although Bliss herself fondly remembers annual trips to Disney World in Florida despite her parents having a relatively low income.

There’s no sugar-coating when Bob talks about the situation, and he seemed eager to tell WWE and the world that he was only finding his feet as a man when suddenly he found himself forced to adapt to being a father for such a colourful, dramatic child.
