The adage about sex selling wouldn’t be so cliche if it wasn’t true and that applied heavily to the Attitude Era. Even though most women on WWE TV are half-naked anyway, graphic nudity was never a thing until Armageddon 1999, when Stacy “The Kat” Carter intentionally took off her bra to expose her bare breasts on PPV. Officials covered her up in less than a second and the whole thing was made to look like Kat breaking the rules.
With women’s wrestling being taken much more seriously, keeping segments like this away from the fans’ memories is very important.
